Thirteen members of the Lyon faculty have been
selected as Arkansas Professor of the Year in the
past eighteen years.
Members of the Lyon faculty are devoted
teacher-scholars. They not only provide students with a
thorough understanding of the theory and practice of a
specific discipline, but also of the interconnections
between that discipline and the other fields of study
offered by the college. The result is an educational
experience of exceptional breadth (interdisciplinary)
and depth (major field of study).
Faculty members are committed to providing Lyon students
with significant scholarly and internship experiences.
Thus members of the faculty seek to involve students in
their research and creative activities and encourage
presentation of their scholarship at professional
conferences. Lyon faculty members additionally
understand the importance of quality academic advising,
including advising students on prospective graduate
programs and career opportunities. Lyon faculty are also
involved in a wide array of community service projects. |
